He has over 37 years of professional experience in custody transfer, fiscal metering, flow metering and analysis, process analysis and sampling. His first professional study was in Electro / Electronics which was successfully followed by a dedicated study in Instrumentation and obtained several other specified certifications during his long career in the Oil & Gas industry.
He is an instrumentation and custody trainer for several oil and gas companies predominantly in the Middle East and has also been on consulting projects and instructor assignments on the topics of custody transfer, fiscal metering, flow metering and analysis, process analysis, and sampling with companies including National Training Institute of Oman, Sakhalin LNG, Nigeria LNG, Haward Technology, amongst others.
In 1992, he joined Shell Global Solutions at the Shell Research in Amsterdam as Quality Measuring Instrument (QMI) Assistant and later as Senior Assistant Chemist Analytical Processes at Hydro-Carbon Processing. During this period, he started working part-time at the Shell Head Office in The Hague as Global QMI Consultant followed by a period as Instrument and QMI Trainer at Shell International. From that moment, he started his successful International career and performed several jobs: QMI Start-up & Commissioning Engineer at Reliance Petroleum Refinery Ltd. – India; Senior Consultant during in-line blending project at Shell Harburg Refinery; QMI Maintenance Engineer at Nigeria LNG and his last Shell assignment before retirement in November 2011, was QMI-Trainer & Consultant at Sakhalin, Russia.
