Stuck Pipe Prevention & Fishing
Stuck pipe is one of the most common and serious drilling problems. It can range in severity from minor inconvenience, which can increase costs slightly, to major complications, which can have significantly negative results, such as loss of the drill string or complete loss of the well. To avoid stuck pipe and correct it efficiently, it is important to understand the various causes and symptoms so that proper preventive measures and treatments can be taken. Preventing stuck pipe incidents can save thousands of dollars in non-productive time!
The 5 day Stuck Pipe Prevention & Fishing Training Course is broken up into a 3 day session on Stuck Pipe Prevention and a 2 day session on Fishing.
The 3 day session on Stuck Pipe Prevention focuses on key mechanisms which pipe becomes stuck and how the sticking mechanisms can be prevented through proper planning an operational procedures. It also covers driller’s first actions to maximize the chances of becoming free. Instead of loaded with theoretical information, participants will work through actual stuck pipe case histories, and receive hands-on practice of setting prevention measures and what needs to be done to get free. Delegates work through actual Stuck Pipe case histories, identifying the sticking
The 2 day session on Fishing focuses upon how it can be a success first time. To maximize their learning, delegates work through actual fishing case histories and follow proven procedures and methodologies.
By attending this training course, you will gain the following
- Find out why and how drill pipe becomes stuck and what you need to do to prevent it
